My "new-old" Starr(s)

We will be picking up the 2 Starrs I won at an auction a couple of weeks ago this Thursday. In the meantime, I got another one... . This Starr came with chipped varnish on the grips; since original grips were oil finished I didn't think I would diminish value any by stripping the varnish off. Here it is with the grips stripped of the varnish

I rubbed 5 coats of BLO on the grips.

The Starrs are a larger gun than the Colt or Remington; longer grip and slightly longer barrel.
Edit: Actually, the barrels are the same length, the Starr barrel just looks longer.

I have two Pietta Starrs One single and one double action. You are correct it takes a bit of work to get them running but worth it when done . both of mine work perfect now. the double action is a really neat pistol once you get your head on about how to operate it

Recently I read a 'web article about double action Starrs where the author said you couldn't operate a DA in a SA mode. I don't know where he got that idea as mine operates both ways. In fact, in SA mode you can pull the tiny trigger in back of the regular trigger to fire the gun.
