That's a sweet looking pair of pistols there.  Looks like custom safety levers and sights.   Double diamond checkered wood grips are classic.

Just noticed they are not twins.   Top one has a different hammer and a beavertail grip safety.   Triggers look the same though.

Correct, the bottom pistol was built to National Match standards.  The top is a ???, built with a flared beaver tail, hole in the wall hammer, a fancy grip safety, and a bunch of other stuff.

I do not know a lot about the 1911.

Not sure, but I do not think so.  I pre-inherited these two from my brother.  They came to me as a pouch of parts, two pouches actually.  I had them built by Jack Basham in SW Ohio, one as a target pistol the other as a National Match.  Once built, I asked my brother to run them through a shake down and catch any glitches that needed to be caught.  He did and they were fixed.  A couple of weeks ago I stopped by his house and asked if he wanted the pouches back.  Sure, I handed them to him and said Happy Valentines Day.  He was without words.
