Well, this isn't a black powder gun exactly, nor is it a Colt. But it's special enough I had to brag on it.
This is a Browning High Wall chambered in .45/70 Gov't. I could shoot 500gr cast lead boolit black powder loads if I wanted, but it's really set up more for smokeless loads with barrel twist, etc, plus I worry about getting a falling block breech clean, so I shoot my own smokeless hand loads out of it, topped with the Remington 405gr jacketed flat point bullet. Even with open buckhorn sights, from a bench rest this thing can and will shoot a 3 shot group you can cover with a quarter. The fit and finish is outstanding.

Nice! I have a Browning High Wall BPCR in 40 65 and it, too, is a shooter. It has the vernier rear and hooded front sight with inserts.  Had a plain jane (for Browning!) in 30-06 a few years ago but sold it to a friend. Great rifles!

I like .45-70. I took my first deer with a 1873 Springfield.

CK, do you know if your rifle is the Traditional Hunter model? I'm not sure of all the differences, except the Traditional Hunter has an oil finished stock vs the harder glossy finish.

This has the hard, glossy finish. Beautiful too, I might add.
