I like all brass revolvers --- just so long as they are historically authentic.  Absent that I’m not too interested.  But as Fingers noted above, anything will do for just having some fun, and  a .44 brass Navy or Rem is still  C&B.  Just that alone gets some points.

With all the brass Colt copies during the war it makes you wonder if the Remington had any fans at all. The South made the Spiller and Burr which was a copy of the Whitney so why no Remington copies? Seems to me everybody liked the Colt design but not the Remington. ???

Let's remember, outside the Beals, the "1858 Remington" models weren't issued until 1863, two years before the war's end. The Confederacy had a lot longer to play with the Whitney, 1851 Navy and Dragoon designs (among others). If they had made a brass Remmy, by the time it was issued the war would have been over.

I have nothing against brass frames, per se. But I'd want my brass frame revolver to be a model that was actually made with a brass frame back then.

Three most popular:
Griswold & Gunnison
Spiller and Burr
Schneider & Glassick

All three were a bronze alloy (not brass) and issued in .36 caliber. None of them had roll-engraved cylinders (all were plain). There may have been more but these are the three most common models.

I really like the look of my brass Pietta 1851. I don't shoot (go ahead, have fun with that. I don't mind.) but I like to buy a pistol every now and then when one catches my eye. Personally, I think the brassers make better display pistols than their steel-frame counterparts. But that's just my opinion.
Like I said, I don't shoot 'em, so the brass-vs-steel frame strength concerns aren't a big deal to me.

Both of my wrists have been fused and any kind of shock to either wrist is extremely painful. Like finger-in-a-light-socket painful, or slam-your-hand-in-a-car-door painful. The kind of pain that you think, yeah, I don't wanna do that again anytime soon.
Could I shoot smaller caliber stuff? Probably. But I really like black powder pistols so I buy the ones I like. Look at the time I save in not needing to clean them.
That said, I wouldn't mind buying a cartridge conversion cylinder for my Walker. You know, just in case I was in the mood to shove my finger in a light socket. 😁
For now, I'll just live vicariously through your adventures.

Sorry to hear about your wrist issues, that's a bummer for shooting. 

Do lighter loads in small calibers present the same issue?  Pocket models or light load .36's, that sort of thing?
