My High Standard G&G purchase, info appreicated.
« on: January 30, 2017, 06:44:21 PM »
Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum. This is my G&G I purchased a short while ago. Anyone know the history of the High Standard pieces? I couldn't find any Italian inspection markings, but I have not disassembled it yet. S/N 01704.

Today I cleaned it and colored in the name. I think it looks cool with the lettering in gold. I want to clean the brass, but leave it tarnished for the patina. Any suggestions on how to get the dirt off without polishing it?

I found out after I purchased this, that they were originally sold in a presentation case with belt buckle. I only got the pistol. If anyone knows of a case missing it's pistol, please let me know. I'd like to get an original case for it.

They were sold both ways,  pistols alone and pistols with presentation cases & accessories

That is a very nice pistol, but I never liked the High Standard blond wood. I am sure it is a very nice and high quality pistol.

I like walnut. Pietta.
