Welcome from Georgia CSA.

What’s owning a gun like in the Netherlands? Can average citizens buy guns and carry them?

Thanks for the nice comments guys :-)

Owning a gun here? Antiques are free, of which I have 2 Colts. (Pocket and London Navy)

Reproductions and modern firearms require a license. This license requires you to be a member of a shooting range for a couple of years. After 1.5 year you can own a .22, after 2.5 years you can own a large caliber (anything larger than a .22) and after 3.5 years you can own a semi auto rifle (semi auto pistols are legal however  ???)

Everything weapon related goes via the Police and government.

I'm on my way to get my first license. When I have that I can register my antiques and this way I can buy blackpowder and percussion caps and actually shoot them :)
