Your favorite Western actors, and why?

     Sooty! Hey man. I too like the Duke. He actually stayed here near where I live back during the shooting of "the Green Beret's" back in the 60's. I was  about 10 years old. They shot a lot of that film right here in GA. There was a neat scene in an old house a few blocks from me. I can't remember but maybe it was where the enemy resided? Anyway, that house burned to the ground about 20 years ago. It was a beautiful house. I have a pacific islander friend here who was an extra in it as well. Cool memories. There is also someone here on the forum that you know who I understand is a very big fan of the Duke? I'm sure you will hear from him.

The Duke...The DUKE! Nobody could deliver a line like him and mean it, except maybe Clint Eastwood. And I liked him just as much in his wartime roles as well. I grew up watching westerns with my dad as well. I'll never forget the time I stayed up with dad watching "Red River"...probably the first time as a kid I was ever up until 2:00 a.m.

Clint Eastwood is definitely among the top. I like the terse way he delivers a line, and I like the music in his Westerns too.

Robert Duvall.
That's a half dozen; I guess that'll do for now.
