Great YT channel for BP longun lovers!!

This YouTube channel..."Sagebrush Longshots"...has become one of my favorites as of late. These guys are making some incredible shots with not only the venerable breech block Sharps and Remington rolling block rifles, but with lever action guns as well. Well worth the time to watch!

Sharps .45/70 at 990 Yards

Remington rolling block .40-65 at 1,000 yards

Vernier Tang Sight adjustment

Enjoy!

I went through and watched all their videos, after you recommended them the other day. Fantastic long range shooting with iron sights!

I love the 20-second delays; CRACK!...............................................................................DING!

Many times, way after you see the physical hit on the gong! A thousand-yard shot with a 535gr Postell .45 cal lead slug is just mind-blowing, especially when they are compensating for winds and thermals. Those boys can really SHOOT!
Can't wait to put my Sharps to the test! I'm sure it will be up to the task, just not so sure of the guy behind the trigger... ^j)

When I was shooting the long range targets with my Sharps rifle sometimes I was sure I had a miss only to hear the bullet hit after what seemed like an eternity.    I usually didn't have the luxury of a spotter so had to rely on all my senses to determine what was happening.

When you have the experience and knowledge, it is amazing what you can do. Unfortunately, I have not risen to that level! The Winnequah Gun Club at Lodi, Wi. hosts 2 long range BPCR competitions a year, with distances up to 1000 yards. I have never shot there, but did a day trip a couple of times just to see what was going on. Those big slugs are coming in at nearly 45 degrees at the 1000 yard range! This range is just over 20 miles from my house, and there is no admission fee for observing.
