Tom Selleck's restored '86
« on: March 01, 2020, 10:45:34 AM »
Found this on the CastBoolits forum. Amazing what can be done when you throw money at a rifle! Turnbull does great work. Scroll all the way to the bottom to see detailed photos from start to finish. Amazing!

Absolutely gorgeous.

I love guns like that, but they also make me sad knowing they'll never be fired. Seems like a waste of time not to be able to enjoy it.

According to Turnbull,  Selleck IS planning on using the rifle! If you read some of the story behind the restoration, the finished gun bears no resemblance to what it started out as. They made it into a take-down, rebored-rechambered it, etc.  Still, a really beautiful rifle.

Good thing it is not mine... I would not put a single fingerprint on it and use surgical gloves IF handling it. No way I would even try to assemble it: my fumble fingers would surely figure out a way to mar it somehow.

I saved the cased photo of it just to drool over it. Absolutely gorgeous!

I don't believe in safe queens. I'd have to shoot it and play with it.

I have to agree.. my guns are like tools in my tool box... all are well used and hunted or practiced with, or they go down the road....

that being said, wow... what a sweetheart.
