Great idea. Too bad we have to have such a thread but let us not forget those who blaze the trail for us.

Where's Johnnie Roper?  Does anyone have information on him?

So many missing we will never know what happened to. Did they pass or simply move on?

Last person to have any info on Johnnie was DD4LIFE as far as I know. And DD has ridden on.

When Johnnie left AZ (in a hurry?) DD4 welcomed and catered for him in Cheyenne (early Sept 2016). I expected to meet Johnnie in WY late Sept - early Oct when visiting with DD4, but by then Johnnie had gone back to AZ (after some Wild West behaviour in Cheyenne, obviously a real hallaballou). DD4 had a phone number and I talked to Johnnie, who said he got a night watchman's job at some ware house in or around Phoenix (I think). There is a big ranch down there, run by Scotty Anderson, where Johnny was employed at some time earlier, maybe there's some info to get from that place? Anyone close to those places might be able to get some news.

Thanks guys.

One of a kind, Johnnie.  I do miss that ol' waddie.

Here’s hoping that any and all rumors of his passing are greatly exaggerated.

Got the Mormon Genealogy page pulled up... Yeah, I'm not any more of that cloth than he was, member in name only.. Anyone have ol' Johnie's full Christian name?

Found this, and a page that allegedly has a phone number an address for an 87 year old of the same, name, when I looked at "show all previous addresses, I saw no Idaho, WY, or "abroad" .. thinking this link is more accurate than the "got 'em" page

Smart research there, Clydesdale!
Johnnie was baptized John. But when he did his national service in the British army, his company had three John, so the CO re-baptized one of them Johnny and our guy Johnnie.
His alias on the forums was Gunslinger with a number attached (can't recall which), but he said the number was the Army ID on his tag.
