I'm getting some pictures ready to post of this rifle. I actually bought it on eBay!

I'm anxious to find out what an FBW rifle is!

Actually, Falling Block Works only made receivers. IIRC, they made 3 different sizes. Mine is the J series, the mid-size.

I bought the rifle unfinished and it is still in that condition.  :-[    I only sanded a bit before tucking it away.

FBW makes sense to me now. I'd never heard of them before.

That's definitely a nice looking rifle. I bet it shoots nice too.

So many projects, so little time! I rubbed some Mineral Spirits on the stock to show the grain. It is actually a very nice piece of wood.

The rifle is chambered in 40-50 SBN and that is why I could get it shipped to me....obsolete chambering. My "other" unfinished rifle is also in that chambering. And NO, I have not shot it yet, just chambered a few rounds to test functioning.

The guy I bought the rifle from said he was building it for the Coors Schuetzen match in Boulder, Co. I don't know why he sold it, but he must have been a pretty good sized man. The LOP is just over 14" and the rifle is quite heavy. I will weigh it tomorrow. I could save almost 2-1/2 pounds by replacing that brass hooked butt plate, replacing it with an aluminum or steel butt plate, and cutting about 1/2" off the stock. The rifle came with a palm rest; you can see the rail under the forearm.
