I guess this was my "sometime"! L@J The schematic I looked at wasn't real clear, but if I had looked a little more closely I might have saved myself time and money.

Deer Creek has parts for a lot of these old Classic Arms kit guns....Duckfoot, New Orleans Ace, pepper box,  etc. I have built a few of these kits in the past. Look 'em up if you need something. My hammer was shipped to me in 3 days.

I've dealt with Deer Creek in the past. Good people, and about the only ones left that carry old ASM parts.

I had hoped that by now I would have been able to shoot the Twister, but nooooo! The new hammer needs "adjusting" it seems. Before hacking on this one I am going to repair the one I "destroyed" so diligently , at least enough to get it to cock. With the spring on the correct shelf, the hammer still will still not rotate enough to go to full cock, the spring hits the top of the slot in the frame. So, back to the drawing board. More to follow.

How? The front half of the spring is being pushed down as the hammer rotates.

Hawg, your spring has, what, 1/16" clearance above the frame when at full cock? My spring hits the top of that slot. I will definitely work on the "sacrificial" hammer to see just what might have to be done before working on the new one. Maybe something as simple as the bend in the spring? I will work with a "sacrificial" spring also. Measure twice, cut once!
