Graf's and Sons powder

Has anyone tried using the Graf's and Sons Graf's brand powder? It's cheaper than Goex, Old Eynsford, Schuetzen or Swiss by a large margin and available in-stock. I would just hate to buy a case of it and be disappointed.

I use it Capt. It performs just like GOEX. Try it. You'll like it.

Hi Kirk, I reviewed it when doing the powder tests with an 1878 Remington, see:

The Graf's powder has one of the lowest energy of any of the BP and subs powder tested. However, velocity tests show the standard deviation for a give volume to be the lowest of any of the powder tested. That means, the best accuracy potential. It is dirtier than all of the other powders tested.

IMO it is a good BP for the price.

I usually make my powder BUT i feel the best powder for the money is old Eynseford. Its only a couple bux more than regular goex and has the same power as swiss...maybe a few feet slower but not by much at all and is very very clean.

Hi, I now see that Graf now offers Null-B BP that is useful in flintlock pans. I have emailed them a number of times to offer Null-B. They listened. Ordered some Null-B and more 3f Olde Eynsford powder.

The powder that was tested from post #2 was made for Graf by Wano. It did have lower velocity than other powders tested from a 44 cal revolver.  I worked with this powder a lot but could not get satisfactory results in rifles or revolvers.  Starting last year Graf powder is now made by Goex.  I have not chronographed it yet but so far it works better in my guns than the Wano powder.  It can't match Old Eynsford but is a good performer for the price
