Pinfire revolver

I thought I might display some of my more unusual guns, so here is a nice Belgian pinfire revolver.

Sorry for the double picture. Dave, I haven't found any pinfire cartridges or made any either.
It functions great though!

That's a nice one Em. I've always wanted a pinfire revolver. They're pretty pricey now. I remember when nobody wanted them. I shoulda bought one then. I think it would be fun to make cartridges for it. Is it 11mm caliber?

Back when I was collecting Civil War stuff I turned down a lot of them plus a lot of single shot horse pistols. They were next to nothing back then.

Right. Nobody wanted them, because you couldn't get ammo for them and nobody wanted to take the time to make it.

Who knew in 2020 that you reload or you don't shoot? :-[

Without actually measuring, I think this one is about 7.65mm or 32 cal. I restored another pinfire revolver in 9mm a while ago and came "that" close to making cartridges, but ended up selling it before that happened. I know there are kits available, also on-line instructions.

I've seen quite a few instructional posts and videos on making pinfire cartridges. It looks fairly simple. Maybe someday I'll find a reasonably priced revolver and give it a try.

I've also seen a few pinfire shotguns on GB. I always thought one of those would be fun to load for and shoot too.

Yeah, shotshells would be a lot easier to load for pinfire. A buddy of mine had one in 9mm (I think). Hmmm, I wonder if he still has it?
