Another cool one Em.

Pedersoli has one very similar to it. But it's a gallery gun. It uses a .22 bullet I believe, and a primer for power. No powder at all. I'll have to dig and see if I can find out more.

Yours is still cooler because it shoots actual cartridges.

I was wrong. It shoots .177 pellets and uses a #11 percussion cap for propulsion.

Dave, I have not shot this gun as (1) it is old and (2) I'm not sure if it would be safe for modern ammo. Certainly nothing more than 22 Short or CB Caps. Hmmm, maybe pull the bullet, empty the powder and re-seat the bullet? Or... refill the case with black powder?

Any idea of the price on that Pedersoli gun? And that gives me another idea for shooting mine....empty case of powder and seat a 22 pellet in the breech. L@J  Forsee any problem with that?

I bet you'd be perfectly fine emptying a case and shooting it without powder.

A CB would probably be another good option.

CB caps will be fine. Don't try a short in it. A buddy found I think an Allen & Wheelock .22 when we were teens and shot a modern short out of it. He ended up with three big pieces and a lot of little ones.

My point exactly! Thanks for posting that bit of info. I had a Flobert 22 single shot rifle and I never shot that because I had heard the action was not strong enough for modern ammo. I think I have a box of CB Caps. At the time I bought that, I was looking for BB Caps but they were unobtanium.

BB Caps(6 MM Flobert) are what the Flobert action was designed for.
