In the early days of fluid steel a lot of people didn't trust it so gun makers faked the patterns. I don't know of anyone making new damascus barrels as it's a lost art. I don't know of anybody faking damascus but you can etch it to resemble damascus.

I agree, I don't know of any modern barrel maker that makes Damascus barrels. When fluid steel barrels started to be made, some makers continued to make Damascus barrels as an option....at a HIGHER cost!

I love Damascus and twist steel barrels on shotguns. I've had a few, and nothing is prettier. I am currently without one, but would like to change that.

I would really like to go on a hunt with a best double and all the cool old style clothes and gear. Nothing says gentleman more than a best grade doublegun in the field.

If you've never read an issue of "The Doublegun Journal", you should go to your local well stocked bookstore and grab one. You'll thank me for it.

I'm not opposed to either one actually. I've always wanted a muzzleloader shotgun. I have one now, but it's too far gone to save and shoot.

This one needs a little work and still three days left but might go for a decent price. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/881885544
