My first cannon
« on: November 01, 2020, 03:27:34 PM »
I made this cannon over 40 years ago. It was mostly used to shoot blank charges on July 4th. My kids loved to light the fuse.

The "knob" at the end of the barrel is a hinge pin top!

The rims on the wheels are sections of electrical conduit.

Cool. I've got a homemade one but it doesn't look nearly as good as that.

They are. 30 grains of powder and a wad in mine and the recoil backs it up a little bit. Similar to what you see with a full size one with a live round. I haven't fired a live round out of it but I would imagine recoil with one would back it up a few inches.

That looks pretty darned good to me.

Thanks. LGS has one like yours in the window, maybe a little bigger and missing a wheel. I've tried to buy it several times but he wont sell.
