The large and the small....

The small cannon is one I have posted about before and was my first. The larger one was built from scratch too (except for the barrel). Both are Naval/Wall Guns.

I love cannons. I have 2. A 50 cal and a 75 cal Parrot Gun. Sure would love to have a full sized one! Not sure what I would do with it however.

I have a friend who made a full size cannon, a great piece of artillary. The drawback was expense, $$$, both with powder and projectile.

Yep,  the 6 pound Napoleon used 1.25 pounds of powder per shot and a 12 pounder twice that. A 20 pound Parrott rifle used a 2 pound charge.

I think Gary used a 1 pound powder charge in his. When traveling, he had the cannon on a trailer, muzzle to the rear. When cars approached and realized what it was, they very quickly dropped back....waaaay back!
