My repro brass scope
« on: January 26, 2021, 06:08:36 PM »
I have had this for several years (sound familiar?) and haven't decided which rifle to put it on.

It is 32-1/2" long and has both end caps. Not sure of the mounts.

I should have waited to take pictures until daylight, hard to see and focus. I think the early NA scopes were made by Tasco.

That would look really cool on a Sharps or similar rifle.

I was thinking of a Rolling block, but any single shot rifle would work.

I have mine mounted on a Rolling Block , I thing that one of yours would look really nice on my 1874 Sharps Sporter :-H

Seriously if you decide to sell it, let me know.

The one I have is 32.5" long, 6 x 15 & says HAKKO.

I picked it up years ago, but when I found out how much a good set of mounts were it has just sat in the safe.

Mounts are a problem. I remember the rear mount being placed on the tang of a rifle a few years ago. Being clamped rigidly, I couldn't see how the scope was adjustable.... If you get the spring-loaded mounts, they are as much or more than the cost of the scope. Hakko was a good maker as far as I could tell. Hakko and Tasco made them early-on.

I had considered selling a while back, but when I saw what they were selling for, I put it away....for now!

I have the same brass scope and had my gun smith install it on my 45/70 SHARPS FULL LEGENTH RIFEL. it is a crowd conversation starter at the range. my instructions that came with the scope said to install it with the optics in the CROSS BUCK POSITION-X. instead of the conventional one,+. it rely dresses' the SHARPS RIFLE UP!
