I don't have a 45-70 anymore. I wish I did. I had to turn down an original trapdoor down a year or two ago for 600.00. I just didn't have the funds. I really hated to leave it there. The only nickle cases I've ran were .38 special. I hate reloading them. They crack too easy. I've got enough powder to last awhile. I don't remember the grades for all of it but I have Swiss 2 and 3F, Goex and Olde Enysford. I think 8 1/2 pounds altogether.

The only way I could build a kit is if it was factory finished, disassembled and put in a box.

It practically is and some of it is giving me fits and I may screw it up yet. I sincerely doubt I could build a Colonial or Southern Mountain Rifle. Those require more wood work and drilling holes in wood and metal. There's no way I'd attempt one of them.

Looks to me like you're doing a good job!

Black Powder seems to have made a return with just about all vendors. If you were waiting for stock to reappear and prices to return to some semblance of sanity, now's your chance.
