Hi guys!

I am having trouble installing the hammer springs on a Classic Arms kit gun. The snake eyes derrringer. Is there a special tool required? How do you do this? I tried needle nose and couldn't do it. Any advice on how to do this and NOT break a hammer spring?

Pics are from the gun as I got it. I disassembled, cleaned and am now "trying" to reassemble.

If it were me A34, I'd get a pair of Vise-Grips and a couple pieces of leather. Put the lower jaw on the frame with a piece of leather in between, to protect the brass on the frame. Put the upper jaw on top of the spring and squeeze.

And with the hammer down. How did you remove the springs?

They just popped out.

Thanks for the help guys. Attached are pics of the finished project. Using vice grips I was able to get the springs installed.

I have not shot it yet, but plan to. .36 caliber with 15 or so grains of FFFG shouldn't be too bad. I'll post a range report when I shoot it!
