Custom Ruger
« on: August 12, 2021, 03:25:26 PM »
Some of you may know who Gary Reeder is. He's a custom gunsmith, that works on mostly Rugers. Some people think his newer creations are a little "gaudy" with all the engraving and such that he puts on his guns. I tend to agree. But this gun is a bit more tasteful.

It belongs to my brother and he got it as a gift from Gary himself in 1993. You see, my brother was married to Gary's daughter at the time. That marriage has since ended, but my brother has a pretty cool memento to commemorate it with. That situation makes the name of this gun even more relevant.

"Black Widow"

It is a beautiful gun and it shoots fantastic. It's .44 Magnum of course. The bluing on it is something else. And the polished buffalo horn grips look great. All in all, it's a pretty neat little gun.

I know it's not a Colt and it's not black powder. But I thought some of you might be interested in it.

Oh yeah, I know of Gary Reeder. I have always wanted one of his custom Rugers. That is a very nice revolver!

Thanks fellas. My brother is pretty proud of it. I keep trying to get it from him but he won't budge.

Dave, tell him you want to make a holster for it, and you need it for the pattern. Then, don't give it back.  L@.

I used to get GR brochures in the mail, but not recently. I didn't know that they also make a custom Vaquero,  it isn't mentioned on this link.

If he did one for me, I think I would have to put it in a display case on a shelf, out of reach.

If you shot it even one time Em, you'd change your mind. This thing is something else to shoot.
