My Current Fancy

In between tinkering on my Walker. I picked up a 1873 CHAMELOT DELVIGNE French Ordnance Revolver. It's chambered in 11x17mm rimmed. Once I get the rest of the necessities together to roll my own ammo for it I'll put a video up of it going boom.

I've always wanted a pinfire gun. They're just too expensive.

I love Col. Colt's SAA. But I question just how behind the curve Colt was when the French had this.

Pinfires were cheap back in the 80's and 90's. I used to see them for sale at Civil War relic shows. I was in a phase where I wouldn't buy something if I couldn't at least shoot it a few times and I never figured out how to make a pinfire cartridge.

Hawg - This is actually a centerfire round. I'm shortening .44Colt brass and loading a heeled .451 bullet. Under 15-17 grains of FFFg I should be able to attain somewhere in the ballpark of 600fps. Not a screaming round but useful.  For, comparison .455 Webley is 650fps.

Nice revolver Woodsrunner. Looks like it's in excellent shape too. Can't wait to hear how it shoots.
