Sorry  Zulch no report yet  Corona  virus  got me between  Christmas and new years  and it's  cold and windy in Southern Idaho. Plus  the  gun is going to need  some  adjustments  before I put rounds down range
Shootemup, I am very sorry to hear of your setback with the virus. I sure hope in earnest for a speedy recovery. Glad to hear from you. Take care my friend. Tim

On to the next question  here is a picture of the bottom of the wedge as you can see the machining  marks are  terrible if I  sand these completely out  do I risk making the  wedge  too  thin?  The wedge was a bear to get out and I'm sure this is why. Should I maybe  sand it just  enough  for easier  insertion and  removal?

Shootemup, I’m glad you are both doing okay👍 . Personal opinion, my thoughts are in line with yours. Sanding the wedge to eliminate the markings depending on their height could possibly thin the wedge ? I don’t know. Maybe others more experienced could comment on this?

First of all does the arbor bottom out in the hole? If it does does the lip of the spring protrude on the other side? If so somebody probably drove it in too tight. If you tap it in snug does it take about the same effort to remove it? If it does I'd leave it alone.

I did end up sanding it a little  bit just to knock off the sharp ridges.  As far as the arbor  goes it is short and will need  fixing.

Glad you are getting over the virus, Shootemup.
I would get those ridges gone. They will be nothing but trouble IMHO/
