From East Texas
« on: January 24, 2022, 08:32:23 AM »
Relatively new guy here, to this forum at least!

I keep looking for an 1873 Colt SAA black powder option but, even pre-COVID I had bad luck finding the model I wanted and then COVID struck and I was totally out of luck.

Someday, I hope 1873 SAA's return to production and availability!  I guess I could always opt for a centerfire >$2K option but, that's not really where I am at today.

Welcome aboard Sidpost! Lots of knowledgeable folks here. willing to help. Hope you like it here.

From your post, it looks like you're looking for the cap and ball version of the SAA? If so, there are a couple on Gunbroker right now. That model is pretty hard to find, as they were made mostly for the European market.

I was thinking that too Mick. The early style frame with the screw in the front.

From Coastal N. Cali: Another welcome to you sidpost.

I remember when Cabelas sold those Pietta C&B SAA jobs for just two bills.  The sunny slopes of long ago.  Never got one cause you need to load off the gun and carrying a press around is not an optimal way to roll (for my own self, anyway).  They look hella cool though.
