I didn't butcher my G 33/40. Somebody else did it before I got it. A master gunsmith did the metalwork but the stock looks like a 12 year old kid did it with a pocket knife. He even stretched and reshaped the original bolt handle and left the serial number intact.

All it needs now is the stock to be smoothed out and the barrel channel cut. This thing is so hard that 80 grit sandpaper wont touch it. It's a Richards Microfit stock and it was advertised as rough cut but I didn't think it would be a problem to smooth out. It is and I can't even find anybody to do it. I would have said the heck with it and bought a walnut stock from somebody else but nobody else makes a stock for a G 33/40. At least none that I found. It's different from a standard K98.

OH YEAH. Much better Doc. Those are very nice. Is there an interesting story with them? Just curious how you wound up getting those and any historical info would be nice when you have time that is. So good to see you again. Thanks

Purchased them about 5 years ago as you see them.
Untouched Mausers , even Spanish Mausers, like these, were out of my price range so I came to terms with the fact that if I wanted a 7mm and an 8mm Mauser they were going to have to be sporterized ones.
They both shoot great and are accurate. And I hand load for both.
I do not regret purchasing them.
