Boy you ain’t kidding there Navy Six.  BP goes way faster then smokeless. That why one of my go to powders is red dot. I keep about 10lbs of that one alone as it shoots in everything.. I use 6gr in 223, like 13g in 30 cal stuff, and so on.. very economical powder… 500 rounds to a lb for most stuff.

Hi AlaskaGuy, I am curious, where do you buy Red Dot? That sounds like a good thing to have around. I have not heard of it. Thank you, Tim

I bought a large supply of Aliant Red Dot years ago, and I snatch it up everytime I see in on a shelf or from a friend that wants to trade. And as others mentioned, Look up “the Load”

I also use a lot of Blue Dot also from aliant. There was a guy named seafear that got me hooked on it for low recoil loads with low volume of powder.. very very economically friendly. Both red dot and blue dot are great for cast bullets…
AlaskanGuy, thank you very much, great information and much appreciated👍👍 Tim

I knew Red Dot was good for pistols, never thought about it for rifles. I always considered the Red, Blue and Green Dot to be shotgun powders.

That's what I thought too Hawg. I always used Red Dot back when I was reloading shotshells for my weekly trap shoots.

I'm with you guys, thought it was for shotgun shell reloading only. It's what I :usa-flag-89: used when reloading for CAS.

I use RedDot for reduced load 30-30.  1.00 Lee dipper with 150 gr or170 gr cast WW.  How ever here are some .30-30 load data. I know this is not a 30-30 board.
I do not see a black powder list on that chart🙁🙁🙁

Hi, my current muzzleloading powder supply:

Powder inventory            4/28/2022

Powder                        Amount (lbs)

Swiss 3f Black Powder         3
Swiss 4f Black Powder         2
Swiss Null-B                         3
Olde Eynsford 3f Black Powder   11
Olde Eynsford 2f Black Powder   4
Olde Eynsford 1.5f Black Powder   3
GOEX 3f Black Powder         1
Graf 3f Black Powder         10
Graf 2f Black Powder         2
Black Mz                            20
Triple 7 3f                         4
Pryodex P                         5

At my age this inventory should probably last me.

The photo is my powder magazine. A large deck storage unit holds a large cooler that contains the powder. To keep mice and insects out of the deck storage unit a few drops of peppermint oil is placed in the deck storage unit each year. This system works well and keeps the majority of my powder safely outside the house.

I also have a lot (LOT) of smokeless powder that I keep in a large cooler in the garage. I was thinking of selling some of the Trailboss and other .45 Colt (good for cowboy loads) smokeless powders, but don't have a contract with UPS to do hazmat shipping. If anyone lives near Attica, NY and would be willing to pick up smokeless powder, let's talk.

Regards,
Richard

Hi AG, yeah, I have an extra sealed 5lb jug of Trailboss that I will never need. I wish my drones flew that far.

BTW, I fully expected Hawg to have heart palpitations when he saw I still have 5lbs of Pryodex. Hawg knows how much I hate that stuff.  Maybe I could use it as fertilizer or kill ants?

Regards,
Richard

Yea.  Box it up, put a big stamp on it, phony return address and tell the USPS it's Bibles.  Just an idea.   L@J
