Wiener World Champs
« on: May 28, 2022, 04:53:45 AM »
Shot the Wiener World Championships last Sunday.  It's held on the pistol line at the NMLRA range in Friendship Indiana.  One of the long time shooters there was a meat inspector with the health department in Cincinnati so has a lot of connections with grocery stores there and hits them up for donations to the WWC.  Targets are a variety of novelty paper and lunch is provided. Score is kept, but everyone walks the prizes and picks one package of meat, repeat until it's all claimed.  I think everyone walked away with better than 10 lbs of smoked sausage, high grade baloney, and hot dogs.  Really it's a chance to get together with some great people, see old friends, make new ones, tell stories, and burn some powder.  Of course I forgot to take pictures.

Dave, That's a great story!! That sounds like so much fun to me. Bunch of folks out shooting and taking your prize winnings home and firing up the ol' grill? What could be better? Thank you for sharing. I will think about this as I cookout this weekend. You were having too much fun to think about pictures. Your description is very easy to visualize and give the ol' imagination some exercise. :cowboypistol:

Sounds like a good and fun day for everybody. Your title was misleading tho. When you said..........I thought you meant..........never mind. (7+" (7+" (7+"

Well, alright then.

The pun is clear, but still - an unfortunate title for an event.

We'uns in my parts go shooting in an effort to get away from Wiener World.

Took an 1860 out this AM, and pleasantly, nary a wiener in sight (no pun).    )%g

It's a match where you don't want to finish 1st, aka the Wiener King.

In this day of "Toxic Masculinity", I find it refreshing that there are still men that are proud of the wiener. Not scared of it.

Press on men. I for one would be proud to be The Wiener King! Shooting guns and winning meat for prizes. What could be better?!?!

Maybe you should change your handle, Shotgun.
