Surprise!!!!!
Another 5" dumped on us overnight with plenty of high winds to move 'em around. Dropping sub-zero tonight with a low of -10 predicted tomorrow.
I am getting weary........

We had 1/2" of ice last night. Fortunately no power outage (yet). However the hard drive in Linda's puter lost the boot sector and now I have to reload the entire drive to get it working again. There are other ways I'm sure, but not with the software I have. Guess how long that will take... 3 days!! I will not start it until the ice is gone, cause if we lose power, it's start over from square one.

Power outage??!! Yeah, we have our share of them, but I installed a 14KW back-up generator about 3 years ago. Runs on LP, automatic start, automatic transfer, we love it! Capt'nK....brace your self, as we have another round coming in tomorrow! I do believe that you are getting more snow this year than we are, 100 miles to the north!

You guys keep your powder dry and stay warm.
Emery I like the 14K idea! I keep a 4k handy just in case.

We have a 6500 hard wired in the shed out back. But it's not auto. I gotta go out and manually start it, then throw the switches. But it keeps the furnace, freezer, frig, and well running, as well as some lights. I don't run it continuously, but only about one hour on, two hours off. Lasts a long time that way. But I hate the interruptions, esp when I'm doing computer work.   *^%

Yeah, I have a little 3.8kw portable gen too, but always had to pull it up close to a panel, hook it up, throw the main, start it, etc. then there are the times when you are not at home and the power goes out. No heat, no refrigeration! The 14 KW generator pretty much does the whole house as far as power, lights, well, heat and refrigeration, all that we need. About the only thing in the house that isn't on the transfer panel is the micro wave and I can just plug that into a kitchen outlet with a short extension cord if we want it.
