I can never keep a New Years resolution so this year my resolution is to not buy 50 more guns. (7+"

My thinking has been that the pointy conicals used in the War were too hydrodynamic to create much permanent cavitation. 

That may have been why the former Reb & Fed fighters that Elmer Keith spoke with thought round ball was more immediately lethal or at least disabling.  Keith eventually believed that about a 70% meplat was optimal.  Any thoughts on that?
