Here is a photo of the hinge half .  I did tack in 6 brass coated nails. It all very tight now.  I haven’t decided about the front attachment.
  It’s not a contest winner or a work of art but will hold powder.

If you take the stopper out and blow in it and feel air escaping it will let moisture in and your powder will clump.

I used some epoxy putty which I pushed into the holes where air could escape.  Now it’s air tight, but may need some more work🥵🥵🥵
