So now you know. The ammo you bought WAS too long.

Well, the ammo he got had oversized bullets. Case length was good.
 I got some "new" Federal ammo that was the same way. Would drop in about half my revolvers,  had to be "coxed" into the rest but the ammo was correct for my revolvers. 
Sucks to be new, have a new revolver,  new ammo  and not sure !!
Glad the jacketed stuff fits like it's spoda!!!  (7+"
