Hi, C&B shoots and talks Uberti 1851:

Anyone know why C&B taps the barrel between shots?

Regards,
Richard

Cool video. He does his research and he's a helluva shot. 100 meters is over 109 yards.

Nice video! Wonder why they didn't make all the barrels with  1:19" twist ?

It looks like he was tapping the wedge. This guys videos are always very good. I got a kick out of it because I use to do something similar. A range I frequent is private property with about 125 yds. Just for fun I used to do the "Hickok" shot as my last shots of the day. There was a hanging steel (2'X4')plate at 75 yards and I could usually hit it 3 or 4 out of five shots with my Navy or Army. Nothing to brag about, but It was satisfying to hear that "clang" at that distance.
Only Blackpowder is interesting.

Yap, I missed seeing him turn it to the side when he tapped. So, even shooting "target" loads ( and using a filler ) after all these decades, the "arbor problem" is obviously there.
