1873 SAA Colts / Re: Case for SAA
« on: October 28, 2020, 07:42:47 PM »
i had posted in the Buy, Sell, Trade forum that I was looking for some accessories to fill the case for my SAA. Got some good suggestions and then departed a bit from the tools concept and thought of what else would maybe appropriate. Looking around on the internet I came up with a few other ideas and asked myself how might a retired law enforcement person keep his old side arm that he had for so many years. Well, he'd probably put it up with his old pocket watch, pen knife and maybe some arrowheads that he'd found along the way. So I did some looking around and shopping on the internet and found some arrowheads, pen knife and a pocket watch that I think fit nicely..... and his Wells Fargo Agent's Badge.

1873 SAA Colts / Case for SAA

Just received this case made by Bill Schumate [ http://billscases.com ] for my Colt that was made in 1890. This is the 2nd case he has made for me. His work is beautiful and I believe fairly priced. Looking around now and doing some research for something appropriate to fill the empty area. The cartridges are blanks but I have some on order as I intend to shoot it once or twice.

General Discussion / Suggestions for Selling 2nd Gen Colt's F-series
« on: March 03, 2020, 10:32:09 AM »
I have been away from this forum due to various issues and have 3 Colt, 2nd generation, F-Series revolvers I would like to sell. I am having some difficulty trying to find out what they may be worth in the current market.  One is an unfired  1862 Pocket Police with the black box and original pamphlets, second is an unfired 1862 Pocket Navy in a wooden presentation case with flask, mold & tin of caps and the third is a fired 1860 Army that comes with the original black box & instruction manual.

I haven't taken pictures but can. Any suggestions on how to honestly value them would be appreciated.  Thank you, Bob

May God Bless each and every one of them, those who didn't come home and those who did make it. If it wasn't for their service we wouldn't have the many blessings we enjoy today.

Army Models / Re: How do I get the barrel off?
« on: November 15, 2013, 09:28:54 AM »
For what its worth, I had a fly fishing reel where I could not get the screw that held the spool loosened. I tried soaking, tapping, heating and whatever else was suggested to no avail.  Then someone suggested putting it in the freezer for about an hour as most metals contract when cooled.  Did that and, the screw came off easily…..
