Tomorrow’s activities. The instructions say to let dry 24 hours before using. Then the fun will begin!

Fantastic Lyle! I can't wait to hear how they work. I have yet to start on my project. But I will!

I went to the desert today to do some shooting. I took my homemade caps to try them. First I snapped 6 CCI #11 magnum caps to clear the nipples. I put one of my caps on each nipple with an empty chamber. One cap failed to explode. I then loaded six chambers and capped them with my caps. 2 failed to explode, 2 failed to ignite the powder and one sounded like a flint lock. That left me with one cap left. I loaded one chamber, capped it and it failed to explode. I hope that I did something wrong when I loaded the caps. It was a total failure in my opinion.

Uh-oh. Have any of you others who use the Pime-All noticed the failure to fire?

Hmmm. This is disheartening.

I haven't tried mine yet. Hopefully I can set a little time aside and try it tomorrow.

I found this video. He crushed or ground the components before mixing them. He put more alcohol on each cap. He put hair spray on the caps after they dried. He made it sound like they were working for him. Time to experiment.

How many caps will the included compound charge? I have heard of people putting a bit of 4fg powder in with their home-made caps and holding it in place with hair spray. That will improve brissance

OK, I got my cap-making punch and set it up in my vise.

I had that exact gun on the top Em! It was my mom's when she was a kid. (She's 80 now) I wish I still had it. My brother and I were hard on things, and we broke it in half one day. It split right across the top strap. My mom was so mad, she put us on restriction, and threw the gun in the trash.

Yeah, that time frame would be right. I took mine apart one time (I don't remember....maybe to clean and/or oil it) and couldn't get it back together. My dad fixed it! I like to think I maybe inherited a few of those genes.
