I'm with you Mick! I spend my mornings out on the patio, enjoying a cup of Joe and a smoke, in the warm sunshine! (I'm gonna duck out now before I get strung up!)

Emery...did you bring the rope? 'Cuz I've got a new, unused one in my saddle bag if you didn't.

Rope? I have paracord, parachute shock rope and up to 1" line, and lots in between.

I have absolutely no experience, but anything should work.

Today is a bright, sunny day with a balmy 3 degrees at 3:00. The overnight low was 15 degrees below zero. Another (more pessimistic) way of looking at that temp is it was 47 degrees below freezing! My.wife just got back from hauling recyclables out to the road and replenishing the bird feeders and suet cakes.

Today was my day off.

So, I replaced the deadbolt on the front door. Chopped 50 pounds of frozen dog food, 5 pounds of organ meats, and a crazy amount of suet. Herself weighs out the portions and we bagged 5 weeks of meals for two dogs. I also had two customers come to the house for contactless drop of, sharpening and pick up. Filled 11 bird feeders, shoveled the walk, washed the dishes three times, helped make, eat and clean up from dinner. Filled the water purifier. Carried stuff to the compost pile. Washed more dishes. Had two glasses of wine, one with dinner and one now.

Oh, got to spend the day with Herself.

Reminds me of when I lived in Alaska a long time ago. Around January 1 1975 the forecast was for around -30*, but when I got up in the morning it was -55* and my truck was frozen solid insofar as the cooling system. The heater core froze and broke so I had to reroute the lines. It took two of us young pups to drive the truck, one driving and one scraping the inside of the windshield until I could get the heater core repaired. We were all of 21 years old at the time and had to relocate because the domiciles we were living in had all frozen and broke.

Great fun for young guys at the time with really no clue but not without a learning experience, and I am glad I am now old and gray.

Regards,

Jim

We have an extended period of below zero temps, mostly at night. We got all the way up to 6* today. Next week it is supposed to moderate a bit.

Same here, Em. And it's snowing...again.
