Chris ( ok, Christopher ).

My handle came from the industry I work in.  I run sound for bands, and entertainment venues.

If I'm talking on the AM mode of the 11 meter (CB) band, then I go by Wolfhound. If I'm talking in the LSB (lower sideband) mode of the 11 meter band or the freeband, then I go by Unit 420. If I'm talking on any of the ham bands, then I just use my first name along with my call sign.  :)

Maternal Grandfather?!  I love it!  It s  a correct term, it just sounds funny (Someone above stated it).

Me?  KrylanDalianTrelLaurenDesch.  a 5 part synthesis of my  'Aura'.  The sound of my electromagnetic energy emenation as it is read by some , ,  machine, as a frequency vibration, then analized/compared to consonants and vowels.   Oooooh!

Previously, I was refered to as  'Lightfoot'.  I had the uncanny ability to sneak around and liberate things in the form of a midnight requisition,  while in the Army.

Roland, don't know how the name got in the family but I was named after an uncle I never met who was a bombardier, shot down and killed during WWII in the Pacific.

Hi, years ago, when I lived in Indiana, Citizen's Band (CB) was the in thing, kind of what like Twitter is today. I even played with Single Side Band CB (SSB). There was a group that created a list of SSB call signs where you could pay your $25 and have that call sign assigned to you, kind of like internet urls today. My handle is ssb73q. I use it for internet monikers and user names. Never had a moniker conflict with anyone else.

It's a pretty cold moniker and the reason I always sign my posts Richard.

Regards,
Richard, ssb73q

ssb73q,  that is fascinating.  I do have another name that, in part, has 457  in it.  It is derived from one of my favorite memories- opening the box of .457 s  in preparation to loading my first black powder revolver, or for that matter, my first black powder arm- a blackbox 1st Dragoon purchased in 1981?, at Schells Sport Shop in Turlock (or as my Brother says- Turdlock) CA.
