Historical prices
« on: October 26, 2016, 08:29:30 AM »
Does anybody know what the price was for a new Uberti 1851 Navy in the 1970's or 80's? Or any other models, 1860 Army, Dragoons, ect.?

I have a book that tells the original prices for Colt 2nd Gen cap n' ball revolvers and I would like to know what other manufacturers were charging at the time.

Good job!   G r e a t !   I bought 3 Walkers (ASM s)  from Primitive Arms in 1985 for $100 ea.  One was stainless.  It was a little more.  I still have the two Blued ones, which were antiqued- Unblued Cylinder with pressure ridge and so on.  These walkers are on the way out and will be  'culled'.

In 1972(?) I paid less than $150 for a pair of 1861's built by Uberti and imported by Replica Arms, new, not used.  As I recall, they were priced a bit higher individually but I made a deal on the pair.  Powder, lead, caps and leather also included.

Yes Ringo, thanks. Those old price lists are great. Got anything from the 1980's?

Kry, I have a Richland Arms ASM Walker with Colt markings on the cylinder and barrel. Do yours have Colt markings?

No, I haven't, the 1980's are not really my cup of tea. I am more into replicas from the 1960s and early 1970s.  :)

Yes.  Same markings.  On top of the barrel lug and on the cylinder.

Ok thanks Ringo.

Kry, mine also has Richland Arms barrel address marked on the side of the barrel and ASM markings underneath. Is that how yours are?

I misstated the Co.  I modified my original post.  I bought them from Primitive Arms, not Richland.

On top of the barrel lug is the typical Colt adress.  On the cylinder is the typical- Wreathed   Colt s  Patent  and Model U.S.M.R.

There is no frame stamped- Colts Patent.  The-  U.S.  1847 is there., above the wedge.  The overall geometry is    v e r y   similar to, if not identical to the actual Walker.  Until you get close,  mine look authentic because they were made to look that way.  All  ASM markings have been removed.
