New modern Colt Blackpowder book taking shape
« on: December 02, 2017, 10:02:04 AM »
Hello fellow Colt collectors. I've been collecting these things for quite sometime and have a pretty extensive collection, but not ALL of the 2nd and 3rd gens available. I'm working on a book now and need additional pictures of varieties I don't have. Must be really good pics for this purpose. I'll post some of the stuff I need, but if you have any of the rare 2nd / 3rd gen Colt percussion revolvers send me a list at eric.deaton@ge.com and I'll be in touch if something you have is needed. Once the book is done I will thin my collection a little. Off the top of my head I need great pics of 1860 Army 2nd gen fluted, 1851 Navy 2nd gen plain cylinder, 1861 navy 2nd gen stainless (that's a tough one) and any of the nickel plated varieties.
Look forward to getting to know and work with you guys. Eric

Hi. I have pics of the 1851 Navy Blank Cylinder but I would not consider them high quality pics. Resolution is probably okay but the revolver was still coated in the original cosmoline preservative, which had dried and was covered in fine lint. Unfortunately I no longer have the revolver so I can't take new pics. If you have any interest pm me and you can use them if you find them acceptable for your purpose.

This sounds wonderful!   There are   t o o ooooo   few books out there featuring history, details and info on these arms.  I am    a l w a y s   searching!  I would love to have a decent book with photos/info covering Colt/CBPA  'reissues'.

I have    m a n y   photos of my collection.  Mainly period themed.  I don t  have any of the ones you mentioned though.  Just Standard Colt 2nd/3rd Gens.
