Winter is not the best season for shooting in the Pac NW with all of the rain.
It is the season for looking for gun deals and dreaming up new projects.
I have been spending evenings in bed re-reading the books I have and came upon a revelation (to me) that I had overlooked. Found out that the Confederate Augusta Machine Works produced pistols based upon the 1851 Navy .36 were produced primarily with 12 stop slot cylinders.
Within a few minutes I used my 12 slot stop plain cylinder on a Pietta 1851 Navy .36 repro and came up with a fair facsimile:
