ELK GRIPS FOR WALKER

Can't find anyone who makes elk or sambar stag grips for Walkers. May commission somebody to make a pair. What yall think? Don't care if they are 2-piece with a grip screw either! Have seen the Elk grips on here on a Dragoon so I think it's possible!

I'm surprised you can't find anyone that makes them.  I would think any of the guys who work in wood would also offer something in Elk antler or bone.  I have seen several guys that make Colt 1911 grips from Girraffe bone, you would think Elk antler would be easier to come by.  Where the hell does a guy get Girraffe bones?

I had a pair of 1862 grips made from giraffe bone came out nice. Toolslinger's been doing some nice grips lately he's just starting out might do them for you

Thanks Hawg,  I was afraid there were giraffes running around with prosthetic legs just so some guy could have grips for his 1911.

Someone should be making those grips. I don't have any elk antler, but do have some buffalo bones that I have been gonna make a set of grips with. Not something you want to want to work on In your basement, dust and odor are pretty bad! A dust mask should also be in place.

I don't know why Sack Peterson couldn't do a set for Walkers. You'll need to send him your frame/grip frame.

A little off topic, but I heard that a zoo in I think the Czech Republic was afraid that their Giraffe population would be in jeopardy of cross breeding, so they killed a baby giraffe and fed it to their Lions, much to International dismay! Maybe we could contact them and source unlimitless supplies of giraffe bone?......O.K. totally tasteless I know! J.K.!

It's an idea, anyway.The lions wouldn't mind. They just toss the bones out anyway.

Not as fancy as CraigC's grip but I fashioned these from elk sheds I found in Arizona.



I prefer smooth grips so I remove the bark.
