Smoking...
« on: June 15, 2015, 05:20:18 PM »
Today's smoker project - bone-in pork loin for pulled pork. Rubbed it two days ago with olive oil and italian sausage seasoning. Smoking it over a mix of mesquite and apple wood.

About ten more degrees to go. Sweet potato salad is done. Cheesecake is done, but still cooling...

Upgraded my budget smoker to something a little more advanced. This model was on sale, and this was the last one in the store. It was the display model, and they gave me an additional 20% off on it. It's seasoning right now, and then I have 5 pounds of tri-tip to smoke in it for dinner.

Smoker is seasoned and tri-tip is soaking up mesquite smoke at 230 degrees. In about 45 minutes I'll add some apple wood.

Alton Brown?   Never heard of her.   I know who Electric Miner is though.

It's a matter of how much you eat. And staying away from things like a lot of sugar and high glycemic carbs. And getting exercise.

Had some Italian sausages that needed cooked, so I chunked them in the smoker with some cherry wood.

I'm getting tired of looking at all of EM's food posts.........and not getting to eat any of it.

I'm thinking of going shopping for one of those smokers for myself.
