Same here. Sigh... bought mine for the $220 price a "tear" (err, year) ago.

Oh well...

Hope someone else can benefit.

I can only imagine that, at that price, whatever was in stock sold out quickly (as this is the first time in over two years that Cabela's has "budged" from the normal $220 price tag that I am aware of) and they probably did not move many pieces during that time (other than mine  (jh  ).

As others have stated, I am curious (fearful) as to what Cabela's sales will look like in 2017, if any.

I know you scored one back in September, but if I wanted one, I sure would back-order it and lock in the price.

Easy to say for a guy like me that spent $50 more...

Hi, I ordered one, on backorder. Cabelas free shipping, while saying not for firearms, went through. It will not be shot, but used for display. The revolver looks like the standard Pietta brass 1851 frame with the Griswold barrel.

Regards,
Richard

Hi, Cabelas abruptly canceled my Griswold & Gunnison backorder. I only found out by checking order status, they never even sent an email.

Oh well, it's just a brass framed 1851 with a round barrel.

I have been kind of intrigued with Dixie's screw barrel pistol. Anyone have one, like it, or is it a waste of money?

Regards,
Richard

I suppose if you like novelties that you will shoot four or five times and put away or display it's worth it. As a shooter leave it be.

What I really wanted from that Cabela’s Griswold was the front end.  Anyway, life’s too short to be messin with brass frames so I’ll just wish for a Leech & Rigdon.

While I was waiting for my buddy to show up Tuesday morning for are yearly trip to Cabelas' in East Hartford Ct. I browsing the interweb and came across the post about the sale. I got to Cabelas'  and went to the black powder dept. and there was one sitting in the case but with a $219.00 price tag. I took a # and when the man called it I asked about it. He looked in the computer and said "yep its on sale for $169.00 but it's  saying we don't have any, but you can have this one. I had a $10.00 coupon and a $h!+ load of points on my Cabelas' credit card so I have a new "GRISWOLD AND GUNNISON" for under $60.00.

Pedersoli Liegi Derringer. Dixie Gunworks sells it with their own name on it.

That one might be worth having but the Classic isn't.

One heckuva deal, sir! You may have just scored one of the last ones in Cabela's inventory.

I got mine last December for $220. Sigh. But then, at least I got one!

Let us know what you think of it. Mine has a not-so-good trigger, a bit of creep compared to my two steel Pietta 1851's.

Congrats!
