This isn't mine its just a pic I glommed off the net but its a Pietta Paterson Deluxe. I think they only sold them in Europe. There's a supernatural show on Netflix called Supernatural of all things that has one in a few episodes. I'm not usually into fancy engraved and inlaid guns but this is the only Paterson I would want.

Thanks, Hawg!
Here's one I pulled off the 'net as well...an original with case and accessories. It appears to have ivory grips, and is one of the very few examples I've seen with attached loading lever.

Here is a link to the Wikipedia article detailing the Paterson:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colt_Paterson

While it is pronounced "Patterson", it is properly spelled "Paterson", so named for the place it was manufactured; Paterson, New Jersey.
It began production as a .28 caliber, then was altered to .36 cal.
Roughly 2,800 were produced between 1836-1842. It's most noticeable feature was the fold-away trigger and lack of a trigger guard.

Yes, and the powder flask for loading off the gun. Makes me wonder if this wasn't "assembled"

I'll find pics of my Paterson and post them later.   I'd like to get my hands on the capper and bullet mold in that cased set.

I bought this used Paterson a couple years ago really cheap.   It's not pristine but it shoots and functions well.   The guy I bought from was a Rendezvous participant who called himself "One Eyed Jack" or "Cactus Jack" or "Jack the Ripper" or something like that.  I think his real name may have Jack.

I would pick up a Paterson in a heartbeat, if I found one at a price I liked.

Excellent pix as well, Scoob.
The loading tools have lately become "Unobtanium" and I don't believe the new guns from Pietta come with them any more (read that somewheres)
A small few of the Pietta Patersons came with attached loading lever. Without the tool you'd have to load off the gun with a Tower of Power or similar press.

The load tool has the correct nipple wrench built into the end of the tool.   The ball end of the tool screws off and the nipple wrench is underneath.   The loading tool also has a screwdriver tip on the blade end.   I wouldn't advise using it though.
I believe Scooby has a Paterson model with the attached loading lever.   Correct me if I'm wrong Scooby.
