Thank you all!

I have started my 67th annual trek around the sun!  Been this route a few times before so it is familiar to me. What is not familiar, and quite frankly, a little scary is scaling back my business to ease into retirement. We will cut back little by little over the next several years. 2025 is the goal.

Been putting in a lot of time  remodeling the house, getting it ready to go on the market. Realtor comes out tomorrow and it should list  this weekend.

Thanks again.

An update:

We sold our little home of 26 years and have moved. Still in Ohio but a little further North and East but still on dry land. Been here just two weeks but settling in nicely. The dogs are happy, new smells and a few more critters, less vehicles.

This will be the last move for us.

Belated congrats to you! As to the trek around the sun, I'm ahead of you and can give some sound advice --- this carousel will turn faster and faster, so you better get a good grip and hold on against the centrifugal force. On scaling back one's business, my advice is to keep some of it as long as you can.

Scaling back in this case means going from 400 sharpening events a year to about 300 in 2021 and 2022. 2023 will be a bit fewer but we will have a shop on the grounds for drop offs and walk ins. I plan to retire completely when I die.
