I had a Benjamin in .22 caliber and my friend had a Sheridan in .20 caliber. It seemed that his Sheridan was more accurate than my Benjamin was.

Didn't those two companies merge?

Seems like I remember that Benjamin Pump had a long wooden pump handle. I looked up the Crossman and it too has the long handle. Wonder if that's what he might have had. the years taking a toll on my memory.  :'(

Neither one had a long pump handle/forearm. At least not in the 60's. My Crossman looked like this but with wood.

Hawg. The more I look at this photo I believe I had one of these. If so, mine was a 177 cal. Was yours 22 or 177?

Update 11/12:
After shooting over 1500 pellets through the Benjamin Marauder semi-auto .22, I compiled enough problems with the operation of the action and accuracy issues to warrant sending the gun back. When the gun works, it is a lot of fun to shoot. However I have come to the conclusion that it is not quite ready for prime time.

Well that's disheartening OldFrenchy. Specially for a gun at the higher end of the scale.

Frenchy, did that Marauder go back for an exchange, refund?

I've been using a Ruger Yukon Magnum.  It's a .177 break barrel.  It's holding up real well.  I used to have a gopher problem - but I don't no more.

I've learned to love that thing.  Never thought I'd be a pellet gun guy but that's all changed.

Sorry the rifle didn't work out. I've heard lots of good things about those.

I've just got a cheap Chinese break barrel 22......but for what it's worth, there are no more pack rats in my yard. I've had a lot of fun with it. It's very quiet.....accuracy could be better, but it serves it's purpose...
