Walker Assembly
« on: October 17, 2021, 01:54:07 PM »
Okay. Reassembling, or trying to. Is there a trick to getting the hand to slide back up in the cavity? I am not over forcing it. Wondering if somehow the spring must be depressed? It goes a little more than half way then balks. HELP!!!  (7+"

It should just slide in. Maybe jiggle it a little bit. Is there a burr in the slot?

What Hawg said. It should slide right in.

Thanks Hawg. I guess just get a file up in there the best way you can if that’s the case?

A small diamond file works best. You should be able to see anything hinky with a strong light.

You can get a set of needle files at Harbor Fright for around 10 bucks. Cheaply made but the work ok for stuff like this.

When I reassembled my 1851, it was as you said, just slipped right in there. No problem. The Walker as I've said just wasn't doing that. I will check up in the cavity when I have a few minutes. Putting out several brush fires, a daily occurrence it seems.  :nocomment:
I appreciate the input from you guys. I really enjoy just sitting at my little table, just focusing on the revolver. I would rather do that than go to the moon if that tells you anything?  (7&  I really like the Walker a lot. Actually, I like them all.  (@+ thanks again,

The old parlance was the hand "chimney"  (how cool)!!  Modern day it's the hand passage. Just thought I'd throw that in.
