Walker # 2
« on: February 03, 2022, 03:41:58 PM »
I recently bought this on GB. I had been watching it. The same seller was also selling a Paterson at the same time but was listed as a Walker with a trigger missing. Anyway, this was a better find than I thought  for $365 plus tax n shipping. Received the gun in a zip up canvas padded pouch. It was flawless to my eyes. BU code 2004. I also was speculating it was an ASM. There were only 2 pictures on the auction. Never asked any questions of the seller. Anyway, fast forward, I received it and I broke it down. I had to pull the cylinder pretty hard to get it off. The old factory grease was holding tight. Tickled me to death. So anyway, turns out it was/is a Uberti. I actually thought when I bid on it that someone would counter. Almost hoped they would because I had no business spending the money. A doghouse isn’t much fun to sleep in. See what you folks think.

Thanks Hawg. I'm glad to hear you say that. I almost hesitated hitting the bid. I didn't want to spend the money but in retrospect I'm glad I did.

How much was the Paterson going for? A Walker with a missing trigger should go for cheap. (7+"

Can't remember Hawg but I think it was around $700 plus? Could be wrong on that. I think Dave was watching and he know the final value.

I had actually bid on it Hawg. The person selling it had it listed as a Walker. But the pictures were of a Paterson with attached loading lever. I messaged the seller, and asked if the gun they were selling was the one described, or the one pictured. They told me it was indeed the gun in the pictures. They had inherited the guns from their grandfather after he passed, and knew nothing about them. They went off descriptions they found on the internet. They did tell me the gun was missing it's trigger. Of course being a Peterson and not a Walker, the trigger wasn't missing, it was just folded up. I thanked them and placed my bid. It sat at around $200 for a week. Then I think others figured out it was mislabeled and the price soared. It went for just under $800. I was out at $450. I didn't want to spend that much.

They had several Colt pattern pistols for sale. One of them was this Walker that Tim scored.

Tell ya what. To keep you from getting incensed and reminded of the hosing you took every time you look at it just send the thing to me. I can always use a good trot line weight. :-*

I swan, Z.  You've went and done it, now, boy!  You could have easily gotten much less gun for a heap more money.  That's a looker right there.  Good buy.  Congratulations, again.
