Deluxe rig
« on: July 02, 2022, 05:08:24 PM »
Made this rig last week.   Marshall Will asked about holsters he noticed on the bench in a photo from another post.    Here's how they turned out.
Tapered 2 1/2inch gun belt with US buckle,  right hand standard, and left hand standard draw holsters and a right hand cross draw holster, along with a sheep skin lined cartridge box.  Rifle scabbard has backpack straps with cartridge loops on one side and sheep skin lining.

That's a beautiful rig, Mike. I like the clean look. That tapered belt works good with those holsters. I like the scabbard with the backpack straps. Someone is getting a fine rig, there. Thanks for posting those photos.

I got the buckle from Hanover Brass Foundry. https://www.hanoverbrass.com/cs-and-csa-two-piece-belt-plates-and-spurs.html They make sand cast buckles from originals. Scooby made the belt and holster. The cards and money are original.

Outstanding set. Lotsa craftsmanship there by a master maker.

Hanover Foundry is a great outfit to get period brass hardware from.

The customer this rig went to lives in Stockton  New Jersey.   I'll bet he is Yankee all the way.

Thanks for the nice words,    I don't post everything I make but some things I think may be of interest here.    Thanks for looking.

I thought I put this photo up in the original post.   I'll leave it here so that Hawg has a better look at the US marked cart box.
