Oh, I can post them from the photo host , no problem. It's when I try to move an article from my web site with embedded photos that the photos won't travel with the post..........Honest Injun!

It's all about hand fit. I shoot CAS and have rather small hands...(BTW, what they say about guys with small hands is absolutely not true!)

I shoot a converted set of 1860 Colt "Londons" with the longer grip. All fingers are on the grip. None hang down below.

I find the hammers very easy to aquire.

I also have a set of  1851 Colt conversions, 1858 Remington conversions and a set of 1873 Colt SAA.....Timed, I'm much faster with the 1860 Londons.

I got the same rifle. But mine says "1 of 1000" on top of the receiver. 44-40 also and BP only......Barrel sure do get warm!

Long Gun General Discussion / Re: Welcome to long guns!

Didn't know that was allowed. Only problem is they are photo intensive and the photos won't come over with a copy and paste. I'd need to get a 10 year old grandkid to figure that one out for me!

This is great! Lots of stuff I wrote about long guns on my web site www.rvbprecision.com

Lining a barrel of an old Winchester 1873
Building a Ballard
Bringing another 1873 back from the dead
More

Hope you enjoy it!

Knives, Swords, 'hawks, etc / Re: Found in a safe
« on: August 08, 2014, 04:07:53 AM »
Got to be careful with safes designed to protect paper documents in a fire. These type of safe have hydroscopic material within the walls, designed to keep the humidity at a few % above the local humidity. Objects prone to rust will be damaged in short order

We recently saw this at our gun club. A member bought a document safe at an office supply store and loaded it with his pistol collection. Upon opening it some months later the entire collection was destroyed. Including a couple nice colt pythons....... :'(

I have a set of 1860 Pietas that I converted to cartridge. I'm having a blast using Cowboy45 brass with Blackhorn 209 powder. All the flash, smoke and sparks with none of the cleanup issues......
